Cardamom futures falls 0.91 per cent on sluggish demand

Cardamom futures fell by 0.91 per cent to Rs 886.20 per kg today, as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

NEW DELHI: Cardamom futures fell by 0.91 per cent to Rs 886.20 per kg today, as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

Besides, sufficient stocks in the physical market also influenced cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for January 2015 contract declined by Rs 8.20, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 886.20 per kg with a business turnover of 264 lots.

The spice for delivery in February fell by Rs 4.60, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 917 per kg with a trading volume of 57 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
