NEW DELHI: Amid profit booking by speculators at existing levels and subdued demand in the spot market, cardamom prices fell by 0.88 per cent to Rs 1,110 per kg in futures trade today.

Further, adequate stocks position in the physical market on increased supplies from producing belts put pressure on cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February month declined by Rs 9.90, or 0.88 per cent to Rs 1,110 per kg in business turnover of 2 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in March contracts traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.02 per cent to Rs 1140.50 per kg in 191 lots.

Marketmen said besides profit-taking by speculators at existing levels, subdued demand in spot market, mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
