Cardamom futures fall 0.60 pc on profit booking

NEW DELHI: Cardamom futures prices fell by 0.60 per cent to Rs 746.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December fell by Rs 4.50, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 746.40 per kg in business turnover of 372 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January shed Rs 1.90, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 778 per kg in 61 lots.

Analysts said besides profit taking by speculators at existing higher prices, fall in demand in spot market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
