Cardamom futures down on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI: Cardamom futures prices today fell by Rs 1.90 to Rs 986.40 per kg due to sluggish spot demand against increased supplies.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January declined by Rs 1.90, or 0.19 per cent, to to Rs 986.40 per kg in business turnover of 404 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in February traded lower by 40 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 1,025.80 per kg in 821 lots.

Market analysts said subdued demand in the spot market against increased supplies, mainly led to the decline in cardamom futures prices.
