NEW DELHI: Cardamom prices fell by Rs 10.90 or 0.79 per cent to Rs 1,370.10 per kg in futures market today as traders indulged in booking profits at existing higher levels. Increased arrivals in physical markets also put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for May-month contract declined by Rs 10.90, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 1,370.10 per kg, with an open interest of 1,242 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in August contract shed Rs 0.50, or 0.04 per cent to Rs 1,325 per kg in 88 lots.

Analysts said, profit taking by traders at existing higher levels against increased arrivals in the physical market mainly led to a fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
