Black pepper surges on heavy demand

MUMBAI: Black pepper prices surged further in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today on heavy demand from stockists as well as exporters amidst restricted arrivals from producing belts.

Meanwhile, copra and ginger prices maintained a stable trend in the absences of any worthwhile buying.

Black pepper shot-up by Rs 15/10 per kg to Rs 395/435 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 380/425.
