Base metals end steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI: Steady conditions prevailed in the local non-ferrous metal market today, with prices moving in a narrow range on alternate bouts of buying and selling before closing at their previous levels.

Market analysts said restricted buying due to a fall in demand from construction units amid adequate stock availability mainly kept prices steady.

The following are today's quotations per kg: Zinc ingot 122-128.50, nickel plate (4x4) 1,053-1,055, gun metal scrap 226, bell metal scrap 228, copper mixed scrap 394, chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 140, lead imported 138, aluminium ingots 120, sheet cutting 123, aluminium wire scrap 126 and aluminium utensils scrap 121.
