Almond rises on fresh buying

Almond California rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 15,800 per 40 kg and its kernel prices traded higher at Rs 560-580 as compared with Rs 550-570 per kg.

NEW DELHI: Almond prices rose by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amid restricted arrivals from overseas markets.

Besides, rising demand from bulk consumers also supported the upside.

Almond California rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 15,800 per 40 kg and its kernel prices traded higher at Rs 560-580 as compared with Rs 550-570 per kg, respectively.

Market analysts said besides increased demand from retailers and stockists, restricted arrivals from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices on the dry fruit market here.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 15,800 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,800-8,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,500-5,000; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 560-580 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
