New Delhi: Almond California prices shot up by Rs 300 in the wholesale dry fruit market today on poor arrival from overseas markets against increased demand from local parties and stockists.
However, prices of other dry fruits remained steady on some enquiries.
Almond California quoted higher by Rs 300 at Rs 8,500 per 40 kg and it's kernel dearer by Rs 12 at Rs 302-304 against previous level of Rs 290-292 a kg.
Marketmen said holding of stock by bulk traders coupled with poor arrival from overseas markets in the face of better offtake brought up almond prices.
Following are today's quotations per 40 kg bag: Almond (California) new 8,500 Almond (gurbandi) 5,000 Almond (girdhi) 3,100, Almond kernel (California) 302-304 Almond kernel (gurbandi) (kg) 280-325 and Abjosh Afghani 6,000-13,000. MORE
