Almond prices decline on reduced offtake

Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 13,700 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 485-495 per kg.

NEW DELHI: Almond prices fell by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital today due to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.


Fresh arrivals from overseas markets also put pressure on the prices.

Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 13,700 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 485-495 per kg.

Traders attributed fall in almond prices to subdued demand from retailers and stockists against increased arrivals from overseas markets, mainly pulled down almond prices on the wholesale dry fruits market here.

The following are today's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 13,700 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,100-7,500; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,400-3,600; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.
