Almond prices decline on reduced offtake

Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists against increased arrivals from overseas markets.

NEW DELHI: Almond prices fell by Rs 100 per 40 kg in the national capital on Tuesday due to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Increased arrivals from overseas markets also put pressure on the prices.

Almond (California) prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 12,900 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 435-470 per kg.

Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to reduced offtake by retailers and stockists against increased arrivals from overseas markets.

The following are on Tuesday's quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 12,900 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,200-7,600; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,200-3,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-20,000.

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 435-470 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 350-450 per kg.
