Almond futures down over 3 pc on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI: In range-bound trading, almond prices fell by Rs 12.75 to Rs 409.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, almond for delivery in June fell by Rs 12.75, or 3.02 per cent, to Rs 409.50 per kg in single lot.

Market analysts said sluggish demand in the spot market due to rise in mercury mainly put pressure on almond prices at futures trade.
