All time high prices of vegetables
Heavy rains and poor arrivals have seen prices of vegetables, especially tomato,touch an all time high in the market here, traders said.

VELLORE: Heavy rains and poor arrivals have seen prices of vegetables, especially tomato,touch an all time high in the market here, traders said.
While tomatoes are selling for rs 40 a kg, beans, potatoes and carrot are selling at between rs 20 to rs 25, they said.
Normally lorry loads of vegetables come in from Andhra Pradesh and onion from bellary in karnataka.
However heavy rains, combined with poor arrivals and a fall in production had reduced supply, they said. Fresh arrivals could be expected from these states once the rain eases, they said.
