Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index edges lower, vegetables prices ease

While the Vegetables Index declined 6.64 per cent week-on-week, the Edible Oil Index fell 3.94 per cent.

Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index edges lower, vegetables prices ease
The Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index edged lower by 0.57 per cent to 102.36 during the week ended Jan 9, 2016 from 102.94 during the previous week. The base for the Index is 2014 (= 100). Lower Vegetable and Edible Oil prices helped the Index end the week lower. While the Vegetables Index declined 6.64 per cent week-on-week, the Edible Oil Index fell 3.94 per cent. Other groups that declined during the week were the Oilseeds Index (-2.32 per cent), Condiments and Spices Index (-1.74 per cent) and the Other Non Food Articles Index (-1.46 per cent). The weekly gainers were the Cereals Index (+0.71 per cent), the Pulses Index (+1.02 per cent), Fibres (+5.39 per cent) and the Sweeteners Index (Sugar, Gur, Khandsari) which was up 0.39 per cent.
