Yes Bank raises Rs 154-crore through bond issue

Private sector lender, Yes Bank on Tuesday said that it has raised Rs 154-crore of perpetual Tier-I capital through private placement of bonds.

MUMBAI: Private sector lender, Yes Bank on Tuesday said that it has raised Rs 154-crore of perpetual Tier-I capital through private placement of bonds.

The capital was raised through the private placement issue of unsecured, non-convertible, subordinated bonds in the nature of promissory notes, the bank said in a press release here.

The issue has received LA+ rating by ICRA and A+ by CARE and is the first Tier-I Perpetual Bond transaction in FY 09 by any Indian private sector bank in the domestic market, it said.

The lender has raised Rs 700-crore in FY 09 in a combination of hybrid Tier-I and Upper Tier-II capital, the bank said.

Yes Bank has a capital adequacy ratio of 14.57 per cent as on December, 2008.
