Reliance Industries (RIL) on Friday announced plans to raise up to Rs 15,000 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs). In an exchange filing, the Mukesh Ambani-led company said its board had approved an enabling resolution authorising the issuance of listed, secured or unsecured, redeemable non-convertible debentures worth up to Rs 15,000 crore.

The proposed issuance will be undertaken in one or more tranches through the private placement route.

Commenting on the quarterly performance, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, said the company's businesses delivered a strong performance despite a complex operating environment.

"During the second quarter, our businesses delivered a strong performance despite a complex operating environment. Commodity markets remained volatile while geopolitical tensions continued to weigh on global supply chains. Against this backdrop, the domestic orientation of our portfolio, combined with operational discipline and versatility of our integrated businesses, helped Reliance navigate external volatility effectively," Ambani said.
