The issuance comprised $3 billion in three-year bonds, $1.5 billion in five-year bonds and $1.5 billion in 10-year bonds, and were priced at final spreads of 70, 75 and 85 basis points respectively over comparable U.S. Treasuries, the ministry said.
The sovereign bond sale saw "exceptional demand" from investors, with total orders exceeding $18 billion, the ministry said. The strong demand reflects investors' appetite despite intensified Iranian attacks in recent weeks on U.S. military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain.
In October 2025, Kuwait raised $11.25 billion from a three-part bond sale, coming after years of domestic political gridlock over a public debt law that raised the borrowing ceiling to 30 billion dinars ($98 billion) from 10 billion dinars and allowed for longer borrowing terms.
