Indian companies may raise a record $20 billion via offshore bonds in 2015: RBS
MUMBAI: Indian companies may extend their offshore fund-raising spree in 2015 as global liquidity, coupled with attractive rates, will help issuers tap cheap money.

Corporates are likely to raise around $20 billion by selling offshore bonds compared with a record $18 billion so far raised in this calendar year, according to Royal Bank of Scotland, or RBS.

Manmohan Singh, head debt capital markets, India & South East Asia, RBS, said Indian corporates have already raised around $18 billion through offshore bonds in about 35 transactions this year.

In 2015, issuances may rise to over $ 20 billion, driven by global liquidity, attractive spread and more debt issuers.
