IDFC bonds collect Rs 436 cr in first tranche

Infrastructure finance firm IDFC on Friday said it has raised Rs 436 crore from the first tranche of tax-saving infrastructure bonds.

NEW DELHI: Infrastructure finance firm IDFC on Friday said it has raised Rs 436 crore from the first tranche of tax-saving infrastructure bonds.

The company collected 2,35,750 investor applications, IDFC said in a statement. This bond issue would attract tax break for maximum investment sum of Rs 20,000, it said.

This was reflected in the average investment of around Rs 18,500 per application, it said.

IDFC will come back to the market for additional tranches of this long term bond issue before March 31, 2011, it added.
