Govt plans to sell Rs 60-bn of 2017 bonds on June 15
The government plans to sell Rs 60 billion ($1.46 billion) of bonds on June 15 at its sixth debt auction of the fiscal year, the finance ministry said.
The government will sell Rs 60 billion of the 7.49 per cent bond maturing in 2017, the ministry said in a statement in New Delhi on Friday.
The government plans to sell Rs 920 billion of bonds in the first six months of the fiscal year that started April 1. The bond sales are 3.4 per cent more than the Rs 890 billion a year earlier.
The government plans to borrow Rs 1.55 trillion this year compared with Rs 1.52 trillion last year.
The bonds will be sold through a multiple-price auction. At such auctions, allotments are made at the price at which each buyer bids or above the cut-off price, according to the ministry.
