Winter is coming: Time to chill in the cool Himalayan breeze

Winter is one of the best seasons in a tropical country like India, thanks to its diverse topography. While some places in India like Shimla, Manali, Kasol and Ranikhet experience beautiful winters, some destinations are just apt to snuggle up with a good book in front of a fireplace and enjoy a cup of hot tea or coffee in bed every morning.

For those seeking adventure, here is a list of must-visit winter holidays to take:

- Jim Corbett National Park: Located in Nainital, Jim Corbett National Park, one of the most famous wildlife reserves of India. Winter time is particularly special as tourists wake up to foggy mornings, a slight nip in the air, and a greater probability of spotting wild animals make the experience a whole lot better.

- Gangtok: Experience the misty sight of the snowcapped mountains rising high above the panoramas, and the cold, raw Himalayan wind will suddenly entice you to discover the forest by going on nature trails. Activities to indulge is are snow trekking and skiing, to have a blissfully white winter experience in our homeland.
