India is rich in culture, heritage and landscapes. In our edition today, we suggest surprise your partner by taking them on a shopping holiday in India (this wouldn’t hurt the pocket too). Here are our top choices:

Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir

Shop for: Silver, Woolen garments and Tibetan artifacts In the coming months, the northern states of Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir will beckon snow tourists. Aside from the ski slopes of Gulmarg, Kufri and Manali, various market places will be buzzing with winter wear shopping. Woolen clothing — sweaters, shawls, gloves, caps and mufflers can be bought from the various handicraft stores as well as directly off the streets.

Goa

Shop for: Junk jewellery, Portuguese antiques The Wednesday Market at Anjuna is a good place to shop for Tibetan silverwear and coconut shell souvenirs. The Saturday Night Market in Arpora offers a mix between local and international crafts. If you’re looking for some antiques head to Morjim and Candolim. Let the strings of your purse loose or maybe just swipe your heart out.

The city of dreams is known as a shopaholic’s lifeline. The bazaars of Mumbai are the most crowded and popular places to get great bargains. Head to Chor Bazaar, Linking Road, Fashion Street, Colaba Causeway, Lokhandwala and more.

The streets of Delhi have so much to see and do (eat too)! Places such as Dilli Haat, Janpath, Chandni Chowk, Sarojini Nagar, Khan Market, Lajpat Nagar and more, are flocked by tourists from across the world. There are several couture, furniture designers that have small shops in Hauz Khas.

What to buy: Sarees, handicrafts, fabrics, jewellery, accessories, shoes and lots more Bangalore has something for everyone. Right from exclusive boutiques and international brands to street side vendors, For great bargains visit Chickpet, where shoppers can find saris and lehengas at affordable prices. The Commercial Street in another shopping hub as well as a tourist attraction.
