TEMPLE TOWN: Perur is famous for Perur Pateeswarar Temple. The temple is located near the Noyyal River and has been patronised by famous poets like Arunagiri Nathar and Kachiappa Munivar. The origins of this temple date back to 2,000 years, it is said to be built by Karikala cholan. Later, the Hoysalas and the Vijayanagar kings also made contributions to this temple.
