And the weakness of the pound has meant that average prices paid by dollar travellers were down by 24% in London . The HPI tracks real prices paid per hotel room, rather than advertised rates, for 68,000 hotels in 12,500 locations worldwide.
This HPI looked at prices from Oct-Dec 2008 versus Oct-Dec 2007. Hotels in the north-west saw the biggest price drops ��� Blackpool fell by 22% to ��79/room/night and in Manchester prices fell by 19% to ��73/room/night.
