HOT-AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL

When: Feb 14 & 15, 2015

Where: Clark, Philippines



Held every 2nd weekend of February in Clark, the annual festival features air-sporting events like hot-air balloon competition, aircraft maneuvers and precision flying, ultra lights, sky diving, aircraft rally, flag jump, balloon bursting competition, kite flying, trade fair, carnival rides and nightly concerts.

Tourists can witness the participation of international hot-air balloons from all over the world. This festival draws thousands of people to Philippines every year to witness the early morning balloon fly-out and late afternoon fly-in.

NICE CARNIVAL

When: February 13- 1 March, 2015

The carnival processions, comprising 18 floats work their way up to a crescendo of gigantic decorations on the Place Massena. These giant, colourful parades take place day and night. In a unique setting, on the Promenade des Anglais, the elegant 'flower battle' are part of the carnival not to be missed.

On floats decorated with the most stunning floral compositions, extravagantly dressed characters throw out mimosas, gerberas, and lilies into the public over 15 days. The Carnival eKing of Musicf will show his fans that he has more than one string to his bow and to his guitar.

GRAPE ESCAPADE 2015

When: Jan 23- 26, 2015

Where: Goa



Organised since 2005, the Grape Escapade 2015 is set to be the one of the best edition with wines, haute cuisine and an entertainment extravaganza that will add glamour to the proceedings. The festival is being organised by Goa Tourism at the D.B. Bandodkar Grounds, Campal, and Panjim.

Apart from being the only festival of its kind in Goa, the Grape Escapade is also touted to be one of the most popular gourmet festivals till date. The festival will bring together restaurateurs, hoteliers, wineries and lifestyle brands, all under one roof. More than 20 wineries will pour wines, while around 15 restaurants and catering companies will offer a range of gourmet food classics, including barbecues, pasta, oriental cuisine and other delicacies.

Vegetarian options, chicken, and meat dishes will also be available, as will a bevy of luscious sweet treats. The grape stomping, which is a tradition at the festival, is a source of much delight and fun for the visitors and is an intrinsic part of the festival this year as well.

"Last year, we had 40,000 participants and visitors during the four-day Grape Escapade and it was an enthralling experience for one and all. We are sure that this year too it will be a success," said Tourism Minister Shri Dilip Parulekar. Chairman of GTDC, (Goa Tourism Development Corporation) Shri Nilesh Cabral said, "This year, the numbers should double in view of the increasing responses received."
