TOUR OF NILGIRIS

Hailed as the mother of all Cycling Tours in the country, TfN is an annual event with Montra TfN 2014 being the seventh edition and scheduled between December 16 and 23, 2014. The riders will get a chance to pedal across different terrains and an opportunity to ride through wildlife sanctuaries and splendid mountains of Western Ghats. Montra TfN 2014 will witness 75 riders (including 10 overseas and 7 women riders) covering a distance of 900 + kms across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Starting from Bangalore, cyclists will pedal through Mysore, Ooty, Palakkad, Valparai and finish the tour at Munnar.

Every year, The Great Santa Run raises millions of dollars to support programs for residents with disabilities. There is also a stunning Christmas themed attraction called Magical Forest. The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, great food and endless holiday cheer. Visitors enjoy the Forest features Forest Express Passenger Train, Boris the Elffs 3D Experience, Avalanche Slide, Rodfs Mini-Golf, Wondrous Gingerbread House Display and a 60 foot fully animated Christmas tree.



BIRDING AT KARNALA BASE FOREST

An enjoyable walk through the moist deciduous base forest of the sanctuary. It is a perfect time to see both resident and migrant birds like Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch, Sulphur-bellied Warbler, Common Chiffchaff, Small Sunbird, Nilgiri Flowerpecker, Rufous and Heart-spotted Woodpecker, White-bellied, Greater Racket-tailed and Bronzed Drongo, Crested Hawk-eagle, Crested Serpent-eagle, and Gold-fronted Leafbird. Make sure you carry adequate water and food, as it is a day-long camp. Open to kids as well as adults, spotting rare and exotic birds at Karnala will excite you.
