Chiemgau, nestled on the foothills of the Alps, offers 300 km of premium winter hiking trails. The gleefully-screeches as you glide past the tranquil snow-topped forests make Chiemgau enjoyable.
Marquartstein, a municipality in Chiemgau offers 20 different toboggan runs to choose from. Spanning across 3.5 km in length and runs from the mountain station to the valley station of the Hochplatten cable car.
If you still wish to up the adventure, try night tobogganing with some of the courses floodlit, it makes for a one-of-a-kind experience. While the course of Chiemgau is milder, Hocheck, a mountain nearby town of Oberaudorf, offers more elevation with an elevation drop of 314m.
A four-chair lift takes to reach a 3-metre wide descent point zipping past a down-hill forest path. Come dusk, the run is illuminated by 35 floodlight poles until midnight.
