This weekend, bask in the spectacular view of Kilimanjaro

In its 14th year, the Kilimanjaro Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km) and Fun-Run (5km) is undertaken against the magnanimous backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The event witnesses a mix of competitive athletes and social runners from all over the world, who set off at 6.30am on the full marathon, with the Kilimanjaro summit in full glory, which remains freshly capped with snow.
The half marathon starts at 7am and passes through a route that offers beautiful views of Kilimanjaro. At about 8km, the route follows a dirt road for about 2km, though some farms and schools, before joining Lema Road, and the long downhill back to the stadium.
The marathon witnesses a large mix of international visitors from places as far afield as Colombia, China, Korea, Australia, Canada, America and South Africa, close to 40 nationalities. The super-charged festive atmosphere is experienced at the stadium also after the race. After the winners are announced, a local mix of singers and dancers keep everyone entertained.
