This holiday season, enjoy a Yak Safari near Lake Tsongmo in Sikkim

Known as one of the prettiest places in India, Sikkim’s plunging mountain valleys, emerald alpine forests and terraced paddy fields, is a treat to the eyes.

Lake Tsongmo: This lake is situated at an altitude of 12,400 ft. In winter the placid lake remains frozen with the area around it covered in snow while in late spring the profusion of flowers in bloom adds a riot of colours around the lake. Most tourists enjoy a Yak Safari near the lake.

Banjhakri Falls: This 100-foot waterfall is located in a landscaped park with forested area at about 7kms from Gangtok. There are paved pathways and footbridges around the park which spread across approx 2-acres of land with many trees and flowering plants. It's a popular picnic spot. There is also a manmade lake with a dragon at the center. The entire park is themed on Shaman culture and you can see Sikkimese architecture visible all across the park. There are gazebos at several points where you can relax while soaking in the view of the flowing stream that forms at the bottom of the waterfall and the greenery all around.
