Given the recent spate of news about lost luggage, queues and hidden charges, passengers fantasise about hassle-free holidays flight. So cheapflights.co.uk conducted a poll of 1,350 respondents about what they wanted on their dream flight.

Around 28% opted for first-class pampering to get them in the holiday mood, with onboard spa facilities preferred by over a quarter of them as the best way to begin a break. In second place, 24% of the British public wanted child care centres on board so that the harried parents could enjoy their flight tantrum-free.

Smokers, cornered countrywide, came together to wish for a mile-high dedicated smoking area, with 12% wanting a zone to light up. That means most people want a comfy journey as much as a good holiday. Interestingly, trapeze artists came in fourth at 10%, followed by a sun deck to begin bronzing, a gym, a casino and cinemas with popcorn and ice-cream!
