Thailand's Sukhothai also known as Dawn of Happiness celebrates the country's national heritage
Sukhothai, means Dawn of Happiness, was first independent Thai Kingdom enjoying golden age under King Ramkhamhaeng, credited for creating Thai alphabet.

The superb temples and monuments of this great city have been lovingly restored, and Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-see for all travellers.
ACTIVITIES: Loi Krathong Festival (Festival of Light),which takes place around the full moon of the 12th lunar month (usually November), this year will take place on 6th November.
The historical park is home to the biggest show of the year when people come from all over the nation to see the ancient temples lit up by thousands of candles.
There will be one show a month (in November will be more) held at the lovely temple of Wat Sa Si in the heart of the historic site, Admission to the show is free. Cycling to experience historical site, is one of the popular activities in Sukhothai, so called slow travel with peace in mind.
HOW TO GET THERE: Sukhothai Historical Park is located 439.7 km north of Bangkok; about four-five hours by car or 1 hour 15 minutes by air. Bangkok Airways . Asia Boutique Airlines operates daily flight.
