The hill station of Kodaikanal has an endangered animal called the grizzled giant squirrel. Perched on the woodsy southern crest of the Palani Hills, nearly 7,000 feet above sea level, this popular lakeside town is a magnet for nature lovers. Wander the peaceful slopes, keeping an eye out for birds, exotic flowers and, of course, grizzled giant squirrels.

Eco-friendly attractions: Devils Kitchen is a cave which, has an air of mystery owing to its deep hidden ravines that seem to appear from nowhere. The cave was first known as Green Valley View, and finally as Devils Kitchen. Be careful with your footwear here as the terrain is slippery. 

Berijam Lake is approx 25 kilometres from Kodaikanal and surrounded by a beautiful verdant forest. The lake stays absolutely pristine and serene all year long and is perfect for a picnic and a day trip with family and friends.

Coakers Walk is a one-kilometre long pathway constructed on the slopes of a hillock and is one of the most serene places you can ever visit.
