Planning to visit Darjeeling this year, you might be able to walk through nature
Tourists visiting the north Bengal hills this April or May will get to walk through the forest area of Darjeeling. The wildlife division is set to revive four popular trekking routes that have not been used for years.

The state chief minister Mamata Banerjee is eager to revive these trekking routes which has prompted the wildlife division to initiate work on a project to renovate the Nature Interpretation Center (NIC) at Tiger Hill and revive the four trekking paths.

The trekking routes to be revived are -5.5 km Tiger Hill-Rambhi path, which is one of the oldest in the region, 7 km Tiger Hill-Chatakpur, 6 km 3rd Mile-Dabaipani and Keventer’s Road-Tiger Hill, butterfly trail.

The routes offer bird watching experience and if tourists are lucky they can catch glimpses of wild animals too. The wildlife division has started training locals as guides to help tourists with the trails that will officially be open to the public from May.'
