Pic of The Week: Serene Reflections
ET-Travel reader Foram Parikh’s recent travels to Sikkim took her to the Gurudogmar Lake. She says of her visit, “It is the second highest lake in India and is situated in Sikkim at 17,100 ft.

“Surrounded by the great Himalayas, this lake is frozen for most part of the year. Reaching here is a difficult task since there is no proper road. We started our journey from Gangtok early in the morning and reached Lachen, the nearest town, by late evening. We checked into the town’s only hotel where the owner welcomed us with local tea, followed by home-cooked dinner and even narrated stories about his sightings of wild animals including snow leopards. We reached Gurudogmar Lake next morning where the oxygen level was only nine per cent, however, the view was breathtaking.”
