ET-Travel reader Dheeraj Gupta went for the London Olympics with his family to cheer for the Indian contingent. Excitedly he says, “While the crowds in London per se were sparse, closer to the venues where the 2012 Olympics was being hosted; the colours of the world did unite.

From the gregarious South Americans to the quiet but confident Japanese to contingents of Chinese that would invariably have a flag ready to flash and then the Britons who wore the most updated Olympic merchandise , it was a true global confluence . At the Westfield Mall, right next to the Olympic Park, you could be sure to run into the athletes and their coaches posing for photographs. We met Jwala Gutta, Saina Nehwal and many others. Felt truly proud to be an Indian.”
