Exactly 100 years after the German invasion of Bruges, the city of Bruges is commemorating the War with three exhibitions. This world conflict is shown both in its Bruges context and its international framework. A historical exhibition titled eAn occupied city in the force fields of global warf, tells the little-known history of a city living under occupation while serving as an operations base for the war at sea. It zooms in on daily life in wartime Bruges and widens the canvas to take in the global dimension of the First World War. Two photography exhibitions titled, eThe timeless power of historical imagesf & eContemporary photographersf gaze on war continue this broader perspective and propel us forward to the present day.

Where: Florida

Soak up the sun, live music and watch the pros compete in Daytona International Speedwayfs Motorcycle Races. Between the thrill of a live race to riding your bike on our hard-packed sand, you can experience what motorcyclists have been feeling about Daytona Beach since 1937. Biketoberfest Motorcycle Festival and Rally attracts motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world to Daytona Beach. Festivities include motorcycle races, charity rides, street festivals and expos.

TRIATHLON

When: October 26, 2014
Where: Algarve, Portugal

Algarve Triathlons along with Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel will be hosting its first-ever Triathlon. Participants will be doing a Sprint Triathlon (750m swim in the sea, 20km bike and 5km run) as well as an Olympic Triathlon (1.5km swim in the sea, 40km bike and 10km run) at the resort. The triathlon aims to give an amazing ride through Sagres and to take participants to eFinisterraf . the end of the world as the Europeans knew it until the 1400s. The bicycle route will take participants through the charming fishing village of Sagres along a route past the historical Fortress of Sagres, Fort of Beliche, to the lighthouse at the Cape of St. Vincent . Located at the Southwestern-most point in Europe. All the proceeds for the participation in the Triathlon will go to NECI - a local charity based in the western Algarve.
