Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams, Munnar was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Tea plantations, friendly people, delectable food and rejuvenating ayurvedic massages, Kerala is a must visit on every Indian traveller’s list. Chennai Express was shot in Devikulam, an idyllic hill station, situated about 8 kms from Munnar. The velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air got filmmaker Rohit Shetty all excited and eager to shoot there. About 160 kms from Munnar is Alleppey. The beautiful backwaters of Alleppey also has a strong celluloid presence. Movies such as Dil Se, Raavan, Guru, David and more have been shot in the backwaters.
