Every couple wishes to make their wedding day as unique as possible. It is, after all, a day they will reminisce for the rest of their lives. While destination weddings are a step towards achieving that uniqueness, what will definitely do the trick is saying your vows in a scenic location instead of in the confines of a hotel.
Wedding planners say that the idea behind whisking away your guests to a destination is to be able to have all of them with you, under one roof, throughout the celebrations. You don’t have to wait for someone to arrive at the last minute or things like that. Though grand celebrations call for a sizeable guest list, too, experts feel that a small audience is much more delightful and manageable.

The world is your oyster when it comes to scouting for the location for a dream wedding. Think palaces in England, lakes in Italy and beaches in Canary Islands as backdrops for a perfect wedding. The rustic charm of Turkey is also encouraging people to host weddings there. Indians, say industry experts, are emerging as one of the top spenders on weddings these days. The location you decide upon, depends largely on what kind of an aura you are trying to create around your wedding. If you want a fun atmosphere, beaches and cruises are a good bet. If you want to put your adventurous side on display, try waterfalls or even underwater venues for your big day. And if you want to feel like part of one big family, farmhouses won’t disappoint.

Couples exchanging vows in front of the Niagara Falls are a common sight now. Hire an elaborate barn in Texas for a truly rustic, yet elegant charm. North Carolina has beautiful barns as does Massachusetts.

Cruise weddings:

There is no dearth of destinations if you decide to have a romantic and elegant cruise and yacht wedding. Canary islands, Scandinavia, Vancouver, Southern Europe... the options are endless. Cruises also have special packages that will entitle you to a honeymoon suite, couple spa treatments and complimentary entertainment passes. So make sure you get a good deal before signing the dotted line.

Top 5 indoor wedding themes:


Vintage:

It’s one of the most popular themes and couples just don’t seem to get enough of it. Brooch bouquets, lots of lace and champagne are what you need to stock up on to get this theme right.

Monochrome:

Black and white makes for a stunning city themed wedding. Posh and chic, it looks classy and has a practical air about it.

Princess:

Every girl wants to feel like a princess and her wedding day is when she can realise this dream. Pink is a sought after shade for this theme. You can break the monotony with ivory and silver in the decor.

Gold:

This shade has an edge over every other one in the book. It exudes grandeur and royalty at the same time. But you don’t have to go all out. Instead sprinkle gold dust on the drapes and walls, the cards and centre pieces could be in entirely golden shades and so can the cutlery. Even the food can be presented in gold containers. The guests will be dazzled, for sure.

Arabian Nights:

This theme involves a fair dose of drama but the result is fabulous. Think jewelled drapes, chocolate coins, belly dancers and even the guests dressed in outfits to reflect the said theme. Platters of middle eastern food will be like the cherry on the cake.
