Here are some handy tips on camera care while on the go

Here are a couple of basic tips on camera care so that those memories can make their way back home safe.

You buy the complex DSLR camera but spend most of your trip trying to keep the dust out of your lens. Here are a couple of basic tips on camera care so that those memories can make their way back home safe.

If you’re planning on using a camera more complex than a point-and-shoot digital, remember to pack a light weight kit and not the whole camera store. Keep in mind baggage allowance and choose utilitarian equipment.

Carry a number of memory cards so you don’t have to choose which pictures to delete to make room for more. Opt for one or two lenses only, which will work for most settings. If you’d rather spend time immersing yourself in activities and take shots once in a while, choose a compact camera to reduce the chance of breakage or loss.

Get into the habit of downloading images on to a laptop or a photo storage device every night so you can free up your memory cards for the next day. Carry a good cleaning cloth along with a couple of ear buds to keep your lens clean.
Try not to leave your camera out in the sun as it can affect the lens and ruin photographs.
