Festive Travel: Flaunt Indian designs
India is the hottest inspiration to design gurus across the world. Now, that’s a known fact by now. Then, why is it that when we travel domestic or go abroad, we prefer western wear over Indian wear? Here’s a solution to that ambiguity. Designer Neeta Lulla quips, “Give Indian outfits a western twist. Make them more comfortable to wear and easy to drape.”

As Diwali vacation extends on this entire week, carry Indianness in your outfits and apparel to celebrate India and also to make heads turn. On sartorial choices, designer Manish Malhotra vouches for Kashmiri embroidery. Bandhgalas for men and ghagra pants or sheer saris with a touch of Kashmiri craftsmanship can add that wow factor in your travel wardrobe.

Designer Shehla Khan says, “Cocktail saris and pre-stitched saris are a big trend currently and can be easily carried when travelling. Pakistani style suits, long flowy kurtas with pants are some more options.” Adding a word of caution, she says “When buying Indian clothes for the festive season, don’t go all out. Look at the repeat value of what you are buying because every season trends will change. Always look at restoring older clothes to make them look new.”
