The Kundalika dam water has good rapids and has a smooth flow of water, making it an ideal spot for rafting. It is almost 10-12km long stretch out of which 60 per cent is still water. During the winters, the water from the dam is released once during the day at 9am and that’s the time the river rafting starts under the supervision of trained rafters. Ideally, it’s suggested to reach before 8.30am to avoid missing the chance. The rafting boat accommodates up to 7-9 individuals at one go.

The river offers amazing vistas and the entire place is quite quaint. The area is rich in flora and fauna and has extensive collection of medicinal plants, among which some are even listed as endangered, along the Western Ghats. It truly remains a botanist’s or nature-lover’s delight.
