Bengal Tourism to set up ropeways in Purulia-Bankura

Initial steps have already been taken for the ropeway project. Purulia is being projected as a prime tourist destination, said State Tourism Minister.

Bengal Tourism to set up ropeways in Purulia-Bankura
KOLKATA: The state tourism department in Bengal is planning to come up with ropeway connections at Mukutmanipur in Bankura and Ayodhya Hills in Purulia.

"Initial steps have already been taken for the ropeway project. Purulia is being projected as a prime tourist destination," said State Tourism Minister Gautam Deb.

"Alongside the ropeways, a tourism information centre is also being set up there," Deb said.

Deb also mentioned that a day-care centre is being set up in Ayodhya Hills to facilitate the tourists. There is more in the pipeline for this tourism circuit. There would be setting up of watchtowers and cottages. "A branch of the State Tourism Development will also be opened at the district administrative building," said the tourism minister.
