Zeenat Aman’s cousin Raza Murad breaks silence on her romance with Dhund co-star Sanjay Khan: ‘When you marry someone who is already married…’
In 1978, Zeenat Aman married actor Sanjay Khan, who was already married to Zarine and had four children. Their relationship ended the following year, in 1979, when the marriage was annulled after Khan allegedly subjected Aman to physical violence....

According to Raza, Zeenat had made her way from Lonavala to Mumbai before an altercation with Sanjay occurred at a hotel. He described the episode as violent, claiming that the incident resulted in an injury that affected her eye. He speculated it must have been a “violent incident", as it affected her eye.
However, he also criticised her relationship with Sanhay Khan who was married to Zarine Khan back then. “When you marry someone who is already married and has children, you have to think about it. You also need to prepare yourself mentally for the repercussions,” he said.
He, however, stressed that violence against women could never be justified. “You have no right to raise your hand against a woman,” he said.
The episode has received considerable media attention over the years. Zeenat and Sanjay Khan tied the knot in 1978, but their union did not last long. Sanjay’s daughter Farah had earlier acknowledged that her father married Zeenat while he was still married to her mother, Zarine. Media reports have associated the alleged assault with an incident at a Mumbai hotel, where Zeenat reportedly suffered severe injuries to her right eye.
While she had never named a specific person, over the decades. The Don star had hinted about a man who had made her suffer physical abuse. In a chat with Simi Garewal, she said she closed her mind to the abuse for many years and deliberately did not ponder on it.
“For many years, in my mind, it’s been obliterated because I think that’s what the human mind does. When there is something distinctly unpleasant, you just close your mind to it and pretend that it never happened, and you promise yourself that it will never happen again. And that’s how you cope,” she said.
The Don star said that the injury she sustained caused her eyelids to droop and obstructed her eyesight.
