Zakir Khan to go on long-term comedy break till 2030: What is the reason and when is his last show?
Stand-up comedian Zakir Khan has announced that he will take a long-term break from comedy, which could last until 2030. He shared the decision during a recent live show in Hyderabad as part of his Papa Yaar tour, citing health concerns and the ne...

Zakir shared the news directly with the audience during his Hyderabad performance. Speaking candidly from the stage, he explained that the break could last anywhere between three to five years, depending on how things progress. He indicated that the hiatus may stretch until 2028, 2029, or even 2030, once his current professional commitments are completed.
The comedian made it clear that the decision was driven primarily by health concerns and the need to sort out personal matters that he has been putting off for a long time. He also used the moment to thank the audience, saying their presence and support meant far more to him than he could fully express.
Why Zakir Khan is taking a long break
Zakir has previously spoken about the physical toll of constant touring, and this announcement builds on those earlier admissions. Over the last decade, he has performed relentlessly across cities, often doing multiple shows in a single day. According to him, the routine involved sleepless nights, early morning flights, irregular meals, and almost no time for recovery. In an earlier Instagram post, Zakir had explained that although he felt unwell for nearly a year, he continued working because it felt necessary at the time. He acknowledged that while he deeply loves being on stage, ignoring his health for so long was not sustainable. The decision to finally pause, he admitted, was delayed and difficult, but unavoidable.
Limited tour and no additional shows
As part of this decision, Zakir has already scaled back his current India tour. He has confirmed that the tour will be limited to a few cities and that no additional shows will be added. After recording his upcoming comedy special, he has been advised to take a prolonged break to focus entirely on recovery.Through his Instagram Stories, Zakir further hinted at the final phase of this tour. He shared that every upcoming show would be treated as a celebration and encouraged fans to make an effort to attend, as he would not be returning to many cities before the break.
When is Zakir Khan’s last show?
While Zakir has not announced a single “farewell” performance, he has indicated that his remaining shows will run until June 20. These performances are expected to be his last live appearances before he steps away from comedy for several years.Following the announcement, fans flooded social media with messages expressing both disappointment and understanding. Many praised Zakir for prioritising his health and urged him to take all the time he needs before returning.
