Yuvraj Singh, in a recent conversation with Sania Mirza on her show Serving it Up with Sania, shared that he would like to apologise to Sachin Tendulkar for a photo he once posted on Tendulkar’s birthday. Yuvraj explained that the image showed Sachin in a rare, easygoing moment, something that was not commonly seen. He added further in the conversation that it took him nearly four to five years to truly get to know Tendulkar, to understand how he communicated his thoughts about the game, and to absorb the lessons Sachin shared through his actions rather than words.

During the interview, Yuvraj also reflected on the advice Tendulkar consistently gave him during his playing days. According to Yuvraj, Sachin often emphasised that there was little point in playing cricket if one was not enjoying it. He said that the fun element of the game should never disappear, even as players move deeper into their careers. Yuvraj spoke about how easy it is to get caught up in rankings, ambition, and the pressure to be the best in the world, but felt that joy and freedom were just as important as hard work.

CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Awards held in Mumbai. The award was presented by ICC Chairman Jay Shah at the BCCI’s annual Naman Awards ceremony.

Yuvraj had congratulated Tendulkar and wrote that for every cricketer of their generation, Sachin was the one who showed that dreams are achieved through relentless hard work and unwavering belief. He added that Tendulkar’s impact on the game and on teammates who shared the field with him was immeasurable, signing off with love and respect.
