Actor Anupam Kher who recently completed the shooting of his upcoming film 'Shiv Shastri Balboa' in New Jersey, spent a day out in New York, stopping for a meal at Priyanka Chopra Jonas's restaurant 'Sona'.

'The Accidental Prime Minister' actor shared several photos and videos from his meal at the NYC restaurant including some with Chef Hari Nayak and his team.

Lavishing praise on the restaurant, the 66-year-old said the food and ambience were great and the staff fantastic.


Addressing the post to the actress, Kher wrote, “Dearest @priyankachopra !! It was really a pleasure to have dinner at your wonderful restaurant @sonanewyork. Everything was great. Food, ambience, fantastic staff headed by chef @harinayak. You have given us Indians one more reason to be proud of you. Keep it up. You are the bestest. Jai Ho! ???? #Food #Restaurant #IndianInAmerica.”


The 38-year-old star, who collaborated with entrepreneur-friend Maneesh K. Goyal and restaurateur David Rabin to launch NYC's latest Indian eatery in March this year, shared Kher's Instagram Story with heart emojis.

Earlier in April, Kher had posted about the 'Barfi' actress's memoir 'Unfinished', saying, "I have been a witness to your rising graph both as an artiste and as a person. In both areas you have achieved phenomenal heights."


Kher is an active Instagram-user and had a day earlier marked his 36th marriage anniversary with Kirron Kher by posting a vintage photograph from their wedding ceremony.

Officially launched on March 26, 2021, PeeCee visited her restaurant - SONA - in New York for the first time in end of June after ease of lockdown regulations in the US. Calling it her 'labour of love', the actress said that it took her 3 years of planning to finally launch the restaurant.

Chopra Jonas said that restaurant features gorgeous interiors, stunning art by Indian artists (which are for sale) and delicious food and drinks. It also has a namesake private dining room, called Mimi’s.

After researching, sampling and testing for months, Chopra Jonas unveiled Raspberry Dragonfruit flavour. "It’s light, refreshing and tastes like summer in a can," she described.

On January 31, PeeCee introduced her sustainable haircare brand, Anomaly. From liquid and dry shampoo to deep-conditioning masks and conditioners, the haircare brand offers vegan and cruelty-free products for shine, smoothening and volume.

The actress said she took around a year-and-a-half to carefully create the products. "I saw a gap in the market for affordable, clean and sustainable haircare, especially at an affordable price point," she wrote on social media.

In an attempt to limit the amount of new plastic that ends up in landfills and oceans, The Anomaly Haircare’s packaging team stripped away all unnecessary packaging and invested more in the formulas.
