Legendary cricketer and former Indian skipper Kapil Dev turned 61 on Monday, and actor Ranveer Singh - who portrays Dev in the upcoming ''83' - took to social media to wish him.

The 34-year-old actor shared pictures with the "legend" from the shooting of the Kabir Khan-directorial.

"Happy Birthday, Legend! Thank you for showing us the way ❤���� You made us proud. Now it’s our turn..," he captioned the three pictures.

The film, that also stars Deepika Padukone as Dev's wife Romi, shows the cricketer's journey leading the Indian cricket team to lift the World Cup in 1983.

The film also stars Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Ammy Virk, Hardy Sandhu, and Chirag Patil among others.

Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif also wished Dev, thanking him for inspiring an entire generation.
