You don't have to tip your Uber driver, says Ashton Kutcher

If you are feeling generous or the driver has gone out of his way to make your ride comfortable, sure, go ahead and tip. But if you don’t, it’s okay.

You don't have to tip your Uber driver, says Ashton Kutcher
There are lots of reasons to hate Ashton Kutcher. He is annoyingly good-looking. He is married to Mila Kunis. Already well off from his movie career, he became ridiculously rich after being an early investor in Uber.

But Kutcher has done all Uber users a favour. He says we don’t have to tip the driver. Lots of Indians use Uber in their own country and abroad. And at times they wonder if the driver should be tipped.

If you are feeling generous or the driver has gone out of his way to make your ride comfortable, sure, go ahead and tip. But if you don’t, it’s okay, Kutcher says. "Nobody’s saying you can't give someone a tip. But the idea of the service is you get into a car, you take the ride, you get out of the car, and it's done," Kutcher said on a chat show recently.

Maybe it is time to do something disruptive now, like drivers paying passengers a tip. It will be a logical progression, considering they already rate clients on the app.
