Taylor Swift recently appeared for an interview with The Icon Sessions, presented by the Recording Academy’s Songwriters & Composers Wing. During the candid conversation, the 36-year-old discussed not allowing the public’s perception of her to slow down her creativity.Taylor Swift revealed that she practised multiple coping mechanisms over the years as a person navigating through the spotlight. One of them was acknowledging that she chose her musical career because she loves it. The singer admitted that she could have opted out of the profession any day when things became ‘unmanageably big’. Yet, she decided not too because she lives and breathes music.

‘That is just where it begins and where it ends. Everything that comes with this ultimately is worth it as long as I get to still make music,’ noted Taylor Swift. Additionally, Taylor highlighted that she has learned to tune out opinions about whether her music or perspective fits into a particular genre. She explained that, while music is rooted in emotional truths that may resonate differently with each listener, she has stopped allowing other people’s judgments to influence her creative choices.Growing up, Taylor Swift often encountered people who questioned whether she had a perspective that was relevant to a certain genre. However, she eventually realised that her music was meant for the fans who connected with it and found comfort in songs, just as she once did. For Taylor, continuing to create music she genuinely loves matters more than seeking universal approval.
On the personal front, Taylor Swift got married to NFL player Travis Kelce on July 3, this year at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The private wedding ceremony was attended by the who’s who of the music and film world.
