How did he meet Holmes?
Holmes and Evans had met at a charity event in October 2017, she told the People magazine in an interview from prison. One year after meeting, Evans proposed to Holmes. "I asked him 20 times if he wanted to spend his life with me," Holmes said in the interview. "There were a million reasons why not." They got engaged in August 2018.
In a 2023 interview with The New York Times, Evans said: "To say we immediately fell in love isn’t an overstatement."
Holmes and Evans welcomed their first child, son William Holmes Evans, shortly before her fraud trial began in 2021. Holmes gave birth to their second child, daughter Invicta, in 2023, as per court documents.
Evans attended several of Holmes' court appearances, and also appealed for her sentence to be reduced. Evans talks about the doc
In a recent appearance on the All In podcast, Evans revealed he had not seen the documentary by that time. "I haven’t seen it. I might think this is the dumbest thing I have ever done," he said, according to Variety. He also spoke of the reason he wanted to make the film ahead of Holmes' time in prison. "There’s been a lot of media produced on her. There’s been a lot of people who have told her story. That narrative is pretty ossified. The whole idea was: Here she is, see her and make up your own mind."
